Being Bullied

Joslyn is a big bully. I take the time out of my busy schedule to create this wonderful tower, just to have her come and demolish it. She is so mean. :P

Should I?

Or shouldn't I?

I SERIOUSLY want to quit my job. I have SO had it with the whole thing. I just want to quit and NEVER EVER EVER look back.

However, with Patrick's work going into their winter lull, and it being exacerbated by the company not hiring salesmen this summer, things could be really tight. So, in order to quit, I would need something new.

My problem with the whole something new thing, is that the one thing that was good about this job was that I got quite a few days off to spend with my little girl.

So, basically, I really want to stay home with her and do something from home. The unfortunate thing is that I don't know what to do.

I've thought about doing daycare, but who's kids would I watch? So, I would do that if I found the right family.

I've thought about doing one of those online jobs, but there are so many scams and they always want you to pay into them first and there is no guarantee that you will even make your money back.

So, basically I'm left with piano lessons. I've toyed with this idea for a long time. I just don't really know where to start.

I would need to find a program that I liked. That is probably the easiest of things to remedy since there are about a million different ones. I would just have to pick one and run with it.

I would also needs kids to teach/practice on. Since, I'm new to the area, I don't really know a lot of the families in our ward, and let's face it that would be who I would start with.

I also really don't know how much to charge and part of me feels like I'm not really "good enough" to teach lessons. So, I can't really charge too much since I'm inexperienced and all. I also wouldn't make nearly as much as I do at my current job, which isn't that big of a deal since we mainly rely on Patrick's income.

I would also feel bad since I don't even have a "real" piano, just the electric piano that my wonderful husband got me. Not that that is a horrible thing. It just isn't the same.

I don't know, maybe I'm just talking myself out of this, but there is a lot to think about, since, we have, you know, like bills to pay and stuff.

I think over all, I would be happy with the decision. It would allow me to stay home with my cutie and still help with the finances. I guess I just wish that I could know that it would be the right thing to do.

Where is my crystal ball? I so could use one!

It Starts Again

In Arizona, August means that school is back in session. Even for the college students, and that means Patrick too.

Patrick was trying to get into a Chemistry class that was full, but last night he decided to give up on that and take an additional online class instead. He chose this because it would allow him to do his cub scout den meetings on Wednesday nights like they have been, instead of moving it to a different night and time.

It would also allows him to spend more time at home and have the opportunity to maybe see Joslyn once in a while. As it is he only gets to see her for a few minutes before he leaves for work and if she happens to still be awake when he gets home.

So, right now Patrick is signed up to take World Religions, Physical Geography, U.S. Constitution, Pre-calculus and maybe another class. I can't remember. The only class that he is taking at the school is his Pre-calculus class, Tuesday and Thursday.

I'm so proud of him, but I miss him when he spends so much time doing school work. Soon enough it will all be over though.

She's Got....

*Gasp*

Cankles!

It's okay though. They are darn cute cankles!

Seven Months Old

Joslyn is seven months now... well she was a week ago...

She loves to explore now. She used to only want to roam around the room that we were in, but now the whole house is her new adventure. I usually just close all the doors to the bedrooms and bathrooms and let her go where she wants. She loves it when we get down and crawl around with her.

She also loves sweet potatoes, carrots, applesauce, peaches and she is starting to like bananas. She still is not fond of peas, but she will eat them.

She loves to smile and look at pictures. She also LOVES remotes, cell phones, cameras... basically anything that she isn't supposed to have.

She is also starting to regrow the hair on the back of her head, so maybe some day soon she will have a cute little bow tied in it.

Here are some pictures that we took of her.

Peeking Out

Since learning how to pull herself up, Joslyn can't seem to stop. Not even in the middle of the night! Of course, she can't get down so she starts screaming and Patrick or I have to go rescue her... Another joy of parenthood...

It is so cute in the morning to go in and see her peeking over/under the railing with a HUGE smile on her face.

She is also pulling herself up on anything else she can. Since she won't sit on her own, she kneels.

Snuggles

For those that don't know, Joss is by far, NOT a snuggly baby. In fact, usually when you try to give her a hug, she squirms away and loudly protests and I mean LOUDLY. :(

This is sad for me because I always pictured having a beautiful little baby to snuggle and hold. This is also good though. Mainly, because she isn't constantly wanting me to hold her, which would drive me crazy!

Anyway, this week she has been teething and therefore not sleeping very well. (At least that is my guess as to why she is staying up an hour or two later, waking up an hour earlier AND trying to shorten her naps.) Since she isn't feeling well and is very tired she lets me snuggle with her! Which makes me happy. I miss when she was a newborn and I could cuddle with her all day long if I wanted.

Taking a Stand

Joslyn has learned to pull herself up to standing now. Now, I find her standing in the crib, on the couch, sucking on our shelves. She's everywhere!

Unfortunately, with this standing comes falling. Joss hasn't learned that she can bend and so she falls backward like a tree getting cut down.

She is growing so fast these days. It's like every three days she is hitting another milestone. Maybe one day it will be sitting on her own.... She still isn't doing that, but she is getting A LOT closer. That should help her to loose that timber effect... :)

Parking Lot Surprises

The other day, Patrick and I went shopping at Costco for a few things. When we went to pull into our parking space, there was a cart at the front of it, so I got out and moved it for us. To my surprise I see this sitting in the seat of the cart.

It was brand new. Still in the packaging and sealed! Also there were two brand new dvds.

I am amazed that someone could spend HUNDREDS of dollars on something just to leave it sitting there in the cart and drive away! Are you kidding me?

Luckily, for them, and for us, we are honest people and we took it to the customer service desk and whoever left it can claim it there.

So, if you left your brand new i-pod touch in your shopping cart at the Costco on 79th Ave Monday afternoon, you know where you can get it.

Hilarious Video

This video makes me laugh every time I see it.

Joslyn has learned to make fake gagging noises and this is what I get to listen to all afternoon. This is also how she tells me she is awake in the mornings.

Crawling

Our little girl has learned how to crawl. For the most part she still army crawls, but she is getting faster.
