Attack of the Joss

Joslyn has learned to army crawl and ever since then she has been attacking me anytime I have my phone or my camera. Here is a video of it.

Hand-me-downs

A few months back, my sister gave us all of her sons old baby toys that he will no longer play with. Joss was always too young for them, but now that she is getting interested in everything around her I thought maybe she would love to play with all these new toys.

Here they are all stacked nice and neat against the wall.

Here is Joslyn with a BIG smile on her face. She is very happy to have these new toys.

And here is what the floor looks like when she is playing with them.

Thanks Heidi! She loves them.

Surprises

Patrick brought me home flowers today. He is so thoughtful and sweet. Unfortunately, we don't have a vase in which to put them, so they are in our plastic juice pitcher. Another one of those, you don't realize you don't have it until you need it items. :)

Six Months Pictures

Yesterday, Joslyn and I went to the mall to get her six months pictures taken. They turned out really cute.

This is the picture that they entered into the personality competition.

We'll Be Loyal Scouts*

Yesterday morning, Patrick had a meeting with a member of our bishopric. They asked him to be over the webelos in cub scouts.

For those who don't know, webelos is the transition period for cub scouts to boy scouts. In the regular scouting program the boys are webelos for 2 years, but the church's program is one year long. That means Patrick has a lot to teach these boys in the time he has them.

Patrick is happy to accept the calling, but he is worried about not having the time with school. His plan was to take classes Monday through Thursday nights. He is trying to figure everything out though. He will make a great webelos leader.

*BTW, Webelos is short for WE'll BE LOyal Scouts.

Peas

Joslyn tried peas this week and from the get-go she has hated them. When we try to give them to her she will spit them right out or hold them in her mouth, but she will try so hard not to swallow any of them. She makes a face after almost every spoonful. She has gotten to the point where she would even look at you when you try to feed them to her. Oh well, I guess she is like her mommy and doesn't like eating her peas.

Joslyn's Newest Trick

Joslyn is getting up on all fours and rocking. It won't be long until she is crawling all over the place and we are trying to keep everything away from her.

She has also learned to scream bloody murder and now everything is a HUGE fit. Not fun, not fun at all. :(

The Girls

Last night, we went to my parents house to celebrate my father's 65th birthday! While we were there we took some pictures of the three youngest girls. They are all within 3 months of each other. Emmalin (Red) is 9 months, Rachel (orange) is 7 months and Joslyn (green) is 6 months.

A Day at the Spa

Today, I went in to work early, so that I could get out early. This meant that I got to spend most of the day with Joslyn. I decided to pamper our sweet little girl with a trip to the spa.

First, we had some lunch. Pumpkin and applesauce. Which also doubled as a facial!

Then, we had a nice soak in a warm bath, with a scalp massage and shampoo.

Then, there was the full body massage, with Joslyn's favorite lotion.

After her massage, she had a mani/pedi.

Then it was on to the salon to get her hair done.

Then we thought a new outfit would be great. Unfortunately, it still doesn't fit.

After all this excitement, Joss was totally tuckered out and needed a nice long nap.

The End.

New Blog

Last night, I had an interview for a wedding planning internship. More on that to come...

Well, during this interview it was discussed how important blogging is to the wedding planning industry.

After giving it some thought. I have decided to start my own blog. It won't be anything fancy, just a look at a few of my favorite wedding things. If you want to check it click here. The URL is www.kedwardsweddings.blogspot.com.

Sixth Month Doctor's Appointment

Today was Joslyn's sixth month well-check. I took the whole day off work so that Joss and I could have so time together. I miss getting to spend time with her, now that I've been putting in a lot more hours at work.

The doctor says that she is doing very well. Joslyn made the check-up a little bit harder for the doctor, since she kept grabbing everything out of their hands and trying to put it in her mouth.

She still doesn't have any teeth coming in, but that should happen soon.

She now weighs it at a whopping 13lbs 6oz. (5%)and she is 25.5 inches long (25-50%). She is still our little pixie. She did come down in percentile on her height though. The doctor isn't worried about her weight because she has always been small and she is traveling right along the growth curve for her birth weight.

She was such a trooper with her three shots. She cried, of course, but not for long and she hasn't been cranky at all today. That may be from the tylenol I gave her in the doctor's office before we left.

She did, however, rip her band-aid off and try to eat it when I went to the bathroom. She got it stuck to the roof of her mouth and it really scared her, and me! I dug it out and she is no worse for the wear.

The doctor also said we can start giving her a few soft table foods like mashed potatoes or steamed veggies that have been smashed with a fork. By the way, we have started giving Joss peas this week and she HATES them. She won't even look at you if she knows that you have them.

All in all, she is doing great and is right on track.

My Friend

When I was younger, there was always a gecko on my parents bathroom window. I remember that I always considered him my friend and that I was always happy to see him. Only him though, not the ones that would hang out by the front door, I never liked them.

Well, this morning, I noticed that there was a baby gecko on my bathroom window and it made me smile thinking that my little friend had followed me.

Daddy Time

The other day I left my camera home with Patrick and Joss. I didn't really think anything of it until I was going through the pictures on it and found this video.

We got it!

We FINALLY got it after 4 months of trying! We finally got Joss to laugh for the camera. It isn't the best one, but it is still her cute little laugh.

Gummy Bear Dreams

Back when Patrick and I were dating he told me of one of his life long dreams, and I laughed at him. Now, before you think me insensitive, I'm not saying that I'm not, but hear me out first.

We were walking through Target and we came across a bag of gummy bears. Patrick tells me that they are one of his favorite candies and that it is his life's goal to buy a really big bag of gummy bears for under a dollar.

Now who wouldn't laugh at that! Its not your usual life goal though knowing Patrick it is no surprise that he wants it under a dollar. :)

Anyway, I came across this "GIANT 1/2 pound gummy bear on a stick", and thought of that day.

Happy Fourth of July

This year since we watched the fireworks last weekend, we opted to stay home in the comfort of our A/C and play games.

We invited Mike and Kristi to stay after they watched Joslyn for us while we went to see Wicked. We had hamburgers and hotdogs with watermelon and curly fries. We ate picnic style in our furniturely challenged living room.

After dinner, we played Last Word and Clue. (Patrick wants me to let you all know that he won both games.) After games, we ate yummy ice cream sundaes.

We meant to watch the fireworks that were broadcast on t.v., but we never got around to turning it on. :)

Here is Joslyn all ready to celebrate the Fourth. You can't see it in these pictures, but Joslyn has a red bow tied at her waist for her "red, white and blue".

It's Totally Wicked!

Patrick and I went to see the musical Wicked for the Fourth of July. We had so much fun, best of all, Aunt Kristi and Uncle Mike came and watched Joss for us while we went, so we got to spend some time alone!

Patrick said that it was funny and that he enjoyed it, but he thought the tickets were too expensive. (Surprised? I'm not :)

Here is a picture us waiting for the fun to start!

And here is a picture of us at intermission. (Patrick is only pretending to be asleep.)

And here is what he really looked like.

First Foods

Joslyn LOVES to eat! It is one of her favorite pastimes. She is loving getting to try new foods, not that she has had many, but she loves it. So far, she has had oatmeal, applesauce and pumpkin. Next to try are peas, carrots, zucchini, peaches, pears and bananas. I love that everything is so new to her. It is such a great time!

Also, she is now getting up on all fours and she rolls or scoots herself to where she wants to be.

Random Pictures of Joslyn

Pre-Fourth of July Celebration

For the last few years, a group of friends and I have gone to a local park for fireworks on the Saturday before the Fourth of July. It is a big show or anything it is just lots of fun and the fireworks are really close and there aren't the huge crowds like on the Fourth.

In the past, we have gotten there early and brought food and games to play. It has always been fun, but the Arizona heat is not! This year, since Kristi lives about three blocks away from the park, we chose to eat dinner at her apartment and then walk over in time for the fireworks. It was a much better plan! Unfortunately, I forgot my camera when we left and I only got one picture with my phone. So, here it is.
