Another Laughing Video

Joslyn thinks it is so funny to bounce or throw balls. I don't get why it is so funny to her, but she laughs almost every time. Here is Patrick bouncing a table tennis ball on the kitchen floor.

Thanksgiving 2009

For Thanksgiving, my Mom's side of the family all get together and have one big feast. This year we had it at our church's pavillion. The weather was so nice, 80 degrees. Next to the pavillion is a nice big grass area that was great for throwing the ball, frisbee, or just running around. Joss loved the rock border and I had to spend much of the time trying to keep her from eating the rocks.

Our First Trip to the Emergency Room

Today, I got a frantic call from my sister, Kristi, who watches Joss for me while I'm at work. Apparently, Joslyn had knocked a shelf off her bookcase and it conked her in the head pretty good and caused a good sized gash just above her eyebrow.

So, I left work 15 minutes early and the three of us went to Mendy's Place, that's the pediatric ER near Kristi's house. Luckily, we didn't have to wait long at all and Joslyn was being so good while we waited.

She did not however like being swaddled and her head being immobilized, not to mention everything they were doing to her cut. She cried loud and long. The male nurse holding her down was amazed at how strong she was and she managed to get her arm out while they were rinsing the wound out.

I was so glad that I asked about whether dermabond would work for her because I don't think Joss or I could have gone through the stitching process.

So, all in all, Joslyn's first visit to the ER was not too bad. We were even in and out in just over an hour, not that we want to go back any time soon.

We did manage to get some pictures while we were waiting though.

Joss after they put the numbing stuff on. She did pretty well with not trying to take off the bandaging.

Waiting in the room. I think she looks like her cousin, Grace, in this picture.

This picture makes me laugh. She was standing and bouncing on the bed.

Sitting with mommy waiting to be discharged.

After the dermabond.

Looking Forward

Yesterday, Joslyn and I went shopping. Usually, I just leave her in her carseat, but she has become increasingly unhappy with that situation. So, I decided that I would let her sit in the cart, like a big girl.

So loved being able to see everything. The only problem is that she wanted to suck on the cart. GROSS!

Ten Months Old

Joslyn is now ten months old. She is cutting her first tooth. Which we expect to come any day now. We can see it just below the gum line. She has learned to stand from sitting. She loves walking when we hold her hands. She has also learned to dance. She really likes the Rocky theme song. She also loves eating anything that we are eating, but not so much eating the food that is given to her. She has also learned to wave bye-bye. We have taken her pacifier away and she was great with giving it up. She is such a little sweetie pie. Here are some cute pictures of my little baby girl.

It's the Cheesiest!

Joslyn has learned how to do that way cute, cheesy grin that all kids learn. I love it!

Thanks Aunt Kristi for taking this picture of her.

Our Little Monkey

Joslyn thinks that it is fun to climb these days. This morning I found her climbing up the computer desk and later into it. Of course, as a good mommy I ran for the camera. Sorry, the first picture is a little blurry.

Happy Halloween

Joslyn had two costumes this year. First she was an aerobic instructor.

And then she was the bubble gum that gets stuck to the bottom of your shoe. And yes, she kept that shoe on her head all night long.

For Halloween, we went to my sister's house and went trick-or-treating with some of our cousins. Joss got to ride in the double stroller with her cousin Matthew. She was not to happy about it at first, but then daddy gave her his keys and we didn't hear a peek out of her the rest of the night. I hope your Halloween was as much fun as ours.
